Jo Ann Hawley - artist, musician, explorer - at the tender age of 6, her love for clay was first noticed, which lead to the love of sculpting and molding. The process of allowing the clay to “lead” her is an expression of spiritual outlet and she credits “divine intervention” as her guide. Jo Ann’s wanderlust has lead her around the world from her bewitching Ozark mountains where she calls home, to the beaches of Africa and the mountains of Peru. Her many adventures traveling solo for so many years have allowed her to tap into this innate creativity and is the inspiration for so many of her pieces - the flora and fauna from the Amazon to the ancient Pre-Columbian figures and ancient religious relics. Jo Ann’s work is featured in private collections worldwide, and her sculptures have been exhibited in shows across the country from Taos, New Mexico to Miami, Florida. Jo Ann received “Honorable Mention” for the “Women in the Arts” 2006 show at the Museum of the Americas in Miami, Florida, just one of her many accomplishments.
