Jay von Koffler—digital artist, designer, sculptor, glass blower, inventor—is an enigma constantly reinventing himself. A contemporary expressionist, his images reflect a combination of abstractions, realism, and surrealism often inspired by the complexity of the human soul. His work embodies the creative genius which defines von Koffler’s artistic vision. He is a prolific artist who demonstrates mastery of digital techniques. To that end, he has revolutionized digital art by making a significant contribution in elevating the digital medium into a higher realm. His digital paintings represent 21st century fine art, indeed. Von Koffler’s driving force behind his creations is what he calls his “oxygen”—oxygen for creativity, kindness, generosity, individuality, friendship, love, life!

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina of German ancestry, he developed his own vision of the world at a very young age. His wartime experiences in Southeast Asia in the 1970s brought him face to face with the realities of the human condition. He learned about the human spirit, the atrocities of war, the suffering of people, the beauty of the soul, the power of creativity. Thus, he immersed himself in a river of energy, from which his creative genius began to transcend. He studied chemistry, physics, and glassblowing. He has produced some of the world’s finest glasswork, sculptures, paintings, and other creative designs. He has owned several art galleries in Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas and Florida and is a prominent figure in the arts community. His work has been exhibited in the Hagerty Museum and Bergstrom Museum in Wisconsin, the Buffalo Grove Historical Museum in Illinois, the Wilken Collection and Fogarty Collection in Chicago, the prestigious Biennale Internationale in Biot, France, and the historical Quedlinburg Cathedral in Germany. His latest works were recently featured at the Surrealism Show in Lisbon, Portugal.

Jay von Koffler's artwork demonstrates that he is a passionate artist with a vision of simplicity and complexity. His collection encompasses a variety of reflective expressiveness, of passionate beauty, subtle perceptions of the human spirit, and complex statements of man’s thoughts and actions. It shows his vision of timeless structure and design, where his creations dance in a symphony of order, color, and balance.
